Recruiting: Help People Start
|
Recruiting is helping people get started with doing new things. As you talk to people about something, some of them will need your help to act on it. Some of them will express interest in learning more and participating. Your job is to assist them with becoming active in any way possible. Recruiting is the basis of empowered activity. Basic RecruitingAnyone can find themselves acting as a basic recruiter at any time. Basic recruiting most often happens when you talk to friends about what you are doing and they want to know more. Advanced RecruitingAn advanced recruiter specializes in assisting newly interested people in empowering themselves. Advanced recruiters are knowledgeable about many different career learning paths. They can talk to recruits about their skills and interests and suggest possibilities for the recruit to explore. Opportunity-based RecruitingRecruiting of people is usually based on a need for particular roles in a group to be filled by people interested in doing them. For example, a team might need a programmer or a band might need a drummer. They recruit someone for that specific job, usually interviewing one or many applicants to see if the applicant's abilities and needs are a good fit with the requirements and benefits of the job. Open RecruitingOpen recruiting happens when there could be any number of people involved in something general like being fans or volunteers. The more, the better, and there is usually no "interview", the opportunity is just open to all. Advanced Spread Empowerment RecruitingEmpowerment recruiters can teach the recruit about empowering principles and basic skills. They can also act as career counselors to advise activists throughout their career about ongoing achievements and challenges. Spread Referral RecruitingWhen you spread media in your own campaigns or as part of Spread Empowerment, some of those people will join Empowerment and be recruited. If you so desire, you can attach a referral code to track people who join as a result of your message spreading. Whoever uses your code to join up can see who you are and contact you to ask you questions. Recruit-Recruiter RelationshipsRecruits and recruiters often find they have a trainee-mentor relationship. Recruiters have a wealth of experience and guidance to share with the new recruit. Recruitment TrackingRecruiters can also take pride in seeing the long-term impact of their recruiting efforts. Like sports league athlete statistics, your stats show you how many people you reached and how many people converted into active participants. You'll even see how many people they recruited and the recruits of their recruits and so on to give you the satisfaction of knowing how big an impact your sharing with others has had. Links

Recruiting
lxpk’s personal skill (something lxpk has learned or wants to learn) posted by lxpk Sat, 2008-03-08 15:24I find myself recruiting people to all kinds of things all the time. I am passionate about a great many things, chiefly Empowerment, and it is a great pleasure to share things I love with people who I think might appreciate them too.
I am also very actively involved in recruiting team members to contribute to Empowerment. I am getting better at this all the time and as the team grows and the Missionpedia collaboration process evolves our ability to recruit great people does too.

Recruiting people in the Spread Empowerment campaign gives them the opportunity to subscribe to new ideas and enlist in groups and campaigns.
