The Empowerment vision is that everyone can be empowered as doers to achieve meaningful changes in the world we live in. Naturally, this necessitates the wide spread of the Empowerment itself. Empowerment is a movement to advance the progress of other movements, but to do anybody any good if must get itself moving first. Inviting your friends and colleaguesThe easiest way to spread empowerment is by inviting your friends to join. Inviting your friends and colleagues is a crucial component of the Spread Empowerment campaign. You can track who joins up and earn 10 points each. Referral CodesAll other forms of media can be connected with the invitation system via coded URL referral codes.
This way, you can put your code on all your materials from your T-shirts to your cards. Referral codes enable new users to get started right away subscribed to your groups and added to your friends list. View your referrals to check your referral code URL, which looks something like this: http://www.empowerthyself.com/referral/7777772f Anyone who clicks your referral code is sent to create a new account. For each user who signs up with your code, you earn points. Spread The Word, Learn The RopesThe activist skills explained in this book can be put to use in promoting participation to an expanding base of people. This is made easier by the free nature of Empowerment. Any part of it can be used to spread the ideas for just the energy it takes to distribute. Spreading Empowerment can teach you the skills to help achieve your own goals, and the more people who you empower, the more effective help you will get with your own projects. The script and storyline of the movie is also a short story included at least partially in the book. The BookIncluding Idea CardsThe idea cards that tear out in the back are great idea vectors too. A few sheets of blank perforated card paper is included to get you started with spreading idea cards of your own. The goal is to make a book that motivates people to read all the other necessary books, to explore all the other ideas, to spread the metaidea of idealism to spur people onto whatever thought and action is right for them. The Idealism manifesto comes first. Then the encyclopedia of ideas. Then the history and world stuff. The RPG rules are at the back or seperate. This is just integral to the mass audience. A simple word or two can say at the start, if you want to skip to the crunchy game stuff, go to page 212 or something like that. Empowerment Toolbar

RiZen proposed an Empowerment Toolbar and showed a demonstration of it. I think we should make a toolbar like this and refine its features. This is a really good idea. Let's add featurelists here:
- It should use the icons like those on the site and indicate how many messages and updates you have the check out.
- It should show how many and which missions you have.
- It should be minimizable to show up in the bottom left status bar like Firebug and StumbleUpon do.

We produced empowerment shirt zero for Barcamp Los Angeles. (Remember, there are 1 kinds of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't. Integers start with zero.)
Source files will be uploaded here as soon as Adobe patches Flash uploads for Leopard or I slum it through Windows along with a communication log showing pictures of us wearing it with feedback.
There were only two original shirt zeroes produced, one for myself and one for Freddy. A full print run is being prepped this week for shirt 1.0.

The Inventory and Actions lists are two new collaborative Drupal systems online now for registered users to use.
Inventory allows you to list the things you have, the wishlist of things you want, requests for things you need help getting, and offers for things you can give.
Actions allows you to post tasks, feature requests, bug reports and support requests into a big to-do list. Have an idea for the site? Post it. Want to help develop the site? Choose an unassigned task and assign it to yourself to work on.
Both of these listings are searchable and both are somewhat clunky to use still but they will gain much more sophisticated interfaces soon. There is already an action underway to improve the way these work!
Actions is already being used with Nihi and Doobius tackling the first Drupal tasks ever to be delegated and loads of site ideas are going up for future consideration.
Inventory is already being used to request equipment from AgentSubversion.
In researching some things on my own wishlist, I discovered a new cause I believe strongly about: Plastic bags. We waste a TRILLION plastic bags every year, a million every second. In a world at war over oil, this is completely insane and costs American and Iraqi lives.
Anyone who uses free plastic bags is LETTING THE TERRORISTS WIN!
I'm going to become a reusable bags activist. I'm going to order a 4 pack of Workhorse black bags and buy a whole bunch of cheap $1 bags to give away to people to get them to buy in.
This issue is so fundamentally black and white that it is easy to see how it will become an excellent example of starter issues we can show people how to pursue that can appeal to everyone without alienating anyone. If you can supply everyone you know with reusable bags Facebook checklist style, you will have gained immense skill and confidence in your abilities as an activist and advocate for good things. Imagine what people will be able to do next once they accomplish this.
I've added my wishlisted bags to my inventory. If you want some bags, add them to your wishlist too!
